We hired Built To Code Inc. for a modification on our condo, wanted to open up the space and make our bedrooms accessible separately which involved installing a new door and re-working our walk-in closet. They didn't just picked the perfectly matching door and paint but went so far as to match the gap between the door and the threshold with the adjacent two other door gaps. The paint job was perfection - they actually pointed out some minor error in the original painting, 35 years old, that I would never have noticed.
We loved the end result and wished we had had this done long ago. Anyone walking through our home can't tell it wasn't there originally - including our real estate agent who helped us buy the place. Absolutely and 100% pleased with Built To Code Inc. and very highly recommend them!

Luc (Built to Code) has done a few jobs for us on our little home in Vancouver. He is like the ninja yoda of renovations. He's not a red seal carpenter, he's a "platinum". I could not recommend his service more. He replaced an outbuilding for us that required cooperation from our neighbors and minimal disturbance on their side of the property line. The ingenuity demonstrated in accomplishing this was beyond expectations.

At my recreational property on Nelson Island, I have 2 buildings and a 235 foot funicular elevator from my docks below a steep cliff. Its remote and accessible by boat only. Getting workers out to repair and do maintenance is difficult. Luckily, I noted Luc Tremblay, owner of Built to Code, was assisting other property owners who informed me of the stellar work he was doing for them. That was enough for me. I needed to replace the torch-on roofing above my dormers of my main cabin. Luc was up a ladder and provided me with an alternative within 30 minutes of arriving at my property. Much less expensive and more efficient. Instead of ripping up the 25 year old torch-on roofing, he recommended using metal roofing. He double checked the building codes and found out there was enough of a run/slope to install metal over top of the existing torch-on. This saved removal time and disposal costs. The result was matching my existing roofing, 40+ years of warranty, and saved labour time and money.
Another thing was replacing my existing septic tank that was well past its best before date. I was already thinking of having to pay for a small landing craft or barge to bring it out, along with the roofing materials. To my shock, Luc loaded all the roofing materials onto his boat roof and secured the openings to the tank and towed it behind his boat! That saved me barging costs. Between us we figured out how to ‘tow’ it behind my elevator carriage up to the top of the cliff. (The tank was too heavy to put on the carriage cage). Brilliant ingenuity that saved time, money,and our bodies. I have hired Luc to do several other repairs. Instead of replacing a pump with a $1,100 new one, he went on-line and realized a common part was the problem, ordered the part for $150 and fixed it within days for 2/3 hours of his time. Luc likes to get things done right and move on! You’ll like that too!
